Please note:  Once an event has been scheduled, it will be posted on this page. 

If you do NOT see your event listed, please contact ReFoamIt ASAP.  No event will be scheduled with just a phone call!  Once you know what date you are interested in, please contact us as soon as possible BEFORE you begin to advertise!!!!

The events listed below are hosted by organizations or municipalities for residents and small businesses. If you have a large amount of foam please call ReFoamIt 508-872-2323 or 508-864-8723 to discuss your recycling options.  We now have our own facility and anyone is welcome to bring their foam to 25 Mohawk Dr., (Entrance is located just before loading dock door B), Leominster, MA.  There is no charge to drop off your foam, but we ask that you make an appointment by calling 508-864-8723!  When our machinery is running, we may not be able to hear the phone so please call back.  You can also enter our building through All American Recycling. 

Exciting news!  ReFoamIt now accepts #4 (LDPE) and #5 PolyPro foam along with #6 EPS foam, more commonly called Styrofoam® at most of our events.  Packing peanuts and bubble wrap will be collected unless stated in the description below.

Foam items do not need to display the recycling symbol!

2015 Events

Sep 12, Somerville DPW, Somerville, MA
This event will be held outside of the DPW Yard (1 Franey Road) from 9-12.  Because we collect a large volume of foam, we ask that you find another resource to recycle your packing peanuts.  Volunteers are needed to help to sort, and pack the foam.  This is an easy way to acquire community service hours.  If you are able to help for any or all of the time, please contact vdeshpande@somervillema.gov

Sep 19, Lifoam Industries, Peabody, No Residency Requirement
Lifoam is hosting a foam recycling event from 9-1.  Bring your clean foam to 2 Fifth Street, Peabody, MA. Please do not ask to drop items off ahead of the event or send foam through the mail.  Most of the time, our collection vehicle is filled to capacity, so please understand if we are unable to accept you packing peanuts.

Sep 19, Ipswich Recycles, Ipswich, MA, Open to Ipswich Residents Only
Electronics and Styrofoam recycling events will be held between 9 a.m. to noon, at the Ipswich Middle School, 130 High Street.  There may be fees to recycle your electronics.

Sep 19, Arlington DPW, Arlington, MA Open to Arlington Residents Only
Arlington DPW is opening the recycling center one Saturday a month so residents may bring their foam, bulky rigid plastic items, books and textiles to the center at 51 Grove Street, from 9-12.  Books and textiles will be given to nonprofits. Sep 26, Amesbury, MA, Open to Amesbury Residents Only
The third annual Recycling Collection Day will be held from 9a.m. to noon at the DPW Building, 39 South Hunt Road.  We are collecting Styrofoam (styrofoam docks are not accepted), prescription medications, shoes, textiles, mercury, cell phones, printer cartridges, eye and sun glasses, clothing and hearing aids and  are also offering free paper shredding to residents.  Please keep items separated as there are stations for each item. This event is free to all Amesbury residents.  We will also be accepting non-perishable food items for Our Neighbors Table!

Sep 26, Norwood, MA Open to Residents only

Sep 26, Malden DPW, Malden, MA Open to Malden Residents Only
The Malden DPW will hold a recycling day for a variety of products including paint, tires, televisions, computer monitors, Styrofoam,  Residents will be able to bring most recyclable items to the DPW; located at 356 Commercial Street between the hours of 9AM and 2PM except paint and Styrofoam will be recycled only between the hours of 9 AM and 1 PM.  There are fees for some of the recyclables including:$2 per car tire, $20 per truck tire, $5 for televisions/computer monitors, $1 for car batteries, $1 for each gallon of motor oil (no antifreeze or transmission fluid), and $2.50 for used oil filters.  The cost to recycle varnishes latex, oil based  and acrylic paints start at $10and will increase based on the amount brought. There is no charge to recycle electronics (not listed above) and Styrofoam.  For more Information contact the DPW at 781-397-7160.

Sep 26, Chelmsford, MA Open To Everyone
Both residents and non-residents may recycling their foam from 9-1 behind the Town Offices in the lower parking lot, at 50 Billerica Road.  This event is free for Chelmsford Residents, and non-residents will be asked to pay $5.00 per carload of foam and $10.00 for a pickup truck of foam. 

Sep 26, Westborough Girl Scout Troops 30555 and 30507, Westborough MA  Open to Westborough Residents Only and Precollection for non Westborough residents
Westborough's next foam recycling event will held at the DPW facility on 133 Oak St as part of Westborough's Hazardous Waste Day from 7:30-noon. This is for Westborough residents only, but the scouts can collect non-resident foam the week before the event (contact gstroop 30555@gmail.com). Girl Scout Troops 30555 and 30507 will be running the event. We hope to see you there. Keep saving your foam!!!

Oct 3, Dedham, MA No Residency Requirement
The Town of Dedham will host Recycle Day at the Dedham Middle School, 70 Whiting Avenue, from 8:00am-12:00pm. This event will accept foam (#4 LDPE and #5 PolyPro foam along with #6 EPS foam, more commonly called Styrofoam®, as well as packing peanuts and bubble wrap), electronics, paper for on-site shredding, clothes, stuffed animals, and scrap metal.  Foam recycling will be free for residents and $10/carload for non-residents.

Oct 3, DPW Bedford, Bedford, MA Open to Bedford Residents Only

Residents may recycle their foam along with other items from 9-12 to the DPW center on 314 Great Road in Bedford.  Additional details will be added soon.


Oct 17 Ayer, MA Everyone is Welcome to the Recycle Your Reusable Event

Nov 14, Arlington DPW, Arlington, MA Open to Arlington Residents Only
Arlington's Community Collection Day starts at 9:00 AM at the DPW parking lot, 51 Grove St.  Please enter from Mass Ave. because Grove Street will be one way during the event.  The event colsed promptly at 1:00 pm.  Please bring bicycles for Bikes Not Bombs, gently used toys, children's clothes and books for the Little Fox Shop, books and clothing for local organizations and re-salable building materials for the Boston Building Resources.  Please click here for a list of acceptable items.  For additional information about the entire event, check out http://arlingtonma.gov/departments/public-works/community-collection-day
