EPS Foam (Styrofoam®) is not recycled through most municipal programs, which means it is burned with the trash or it is put directly into the landfill, where it doesn’t break down! The municipalities and businesses listed below participate with ReFoamIt in ongoing recycling programs. All EPS Foam that is collected through the programs listed on this web site will be recycled or reused.
The municipalities and companies listed below have ongoing foam recycling programs and one day events are listed on the single event page. If you don’t see an event near you and wish to host a collection/recycle day, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Our programs are individualized so please include a phone number and the town where the event will be held when you leave us a message.

Clark University, Worcester, MA, Clark University Campus Only
Clark University works hard to live up to our slogan, "Challenge Convention, Change The World." We continuously search for new ways to advance our sustainable initiatives in order to become a more eco-friendly campus, and with the hope of spreading that mindset into the Worcester community and beyond. We take recycling very seriously at our school and we show that by finding new projects to explore. Recently, we have implemented a composting system which is set up in all of the dorms and in which the recycling crew, consisting of only students, goes around campus to collect the compost and the rest of the recycling. In September of 2013 we decided we wanted to do more, and we decided to search for a way to recycle styrofoam. When we found ReFoamit we were ecstatic, and now almost a year down the line, we have gotten massive results, there is styrofoam coming out of our ears, and we are so pleased to be finally recycling styrofoam and we will continue to find more ways to make the earth a better place!
Newbury, Vermont, started a pilot project for the Northeast Kingdom last Spring, recycling styrofoam to be taken to Refoamit's processing plant in Leominster. The project has been met by such enthusiasm and co-operation from all sides - folks who live here, businesses who've been accumulating far too long, and other towns in our district who are about to join in. We're storing the foam we've taken in - an empty barn near the village - tailor-made for such a massive pile!
